Meeting Spot

At the harbour pub you get a seasonal local beer, poured where Nova Scotians have been drinking and listening to live music since 1974. At our donair stop, a seasonal cocktail mixed to match the plate and the time of year.</p><p style="margin-left:0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin-left:0px;">Two drinks, two of the better rooms downtown, and a little more time to settle in with your guide and your group.</p><p style="margin-left:0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin-left:0px;">You must be 19 or older with valid ID, in line with Nova Scotia's legal drinking age.</p>

What you'll do

Due to the nature of creating a well balanced and thoughtful gastronomy experience, many of our tours are unable to accommodate certain dietary restrictions. Please <a href="mailto:paris@secrettours.com">contact us</a> prior to booking your tour to see if we are able to accommodate your dietary needs.

What You'll Taste

<p style="margin-left:0px;">We built the route between Grand Parade and the harbour because the whole city reads in those few blocks. Grand Parade has been the town's meeting place since 1749, flanked by City Hall and by St Paul's, the oldest surviving building in Halifax. From there it is a short walk to Argyle Street, where the restaurants sit shoulder to shoulder, and down to a working harbour where fishing boats still tie up steps from where you eat.</p><p style="margin-left:0px;">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin-left:0px;">The same stretch holds the newer Halifax. A Syrian family's chocolate shop in a glass building on the water. A candy store on Barrington selling saltwater taffy by weight. Stone warehouses from the 1700s and 1800s, built for privateers, now full of counters and tables and live music seven nights a week.</p>
