What you'll do

Korean BBQ Dinner can be a little intimidating for foreigners in Korea. It’s hard to know what the dishes are, how to eat them and what to expect. The best places don’t even have English menus. So, we have created this event to show you the best of Korean BBQ in Seoul, to make you get the best out of this amazingly delicious cultural experience.

Everyone gathers around a grill in the middle of the table. Our local guide will explain how things are supposed to be eaten(and drunk) while the server brings plates of raw meat and lots of side dishes—called banchan (bon-chon)—then, helped by the guide, everyone can begin cooking and eating their own food and explore Korean culture through this unique foodie event!

Alcoholic drinks are part of this experience and will be served during the meal, however if you would like more, a thoughtfully curated Upgraded Drinks Package is available.

We'll begin by meeting outside Jongno 3-ga station, in front of Exit 4(there's plenty of other exits, make sure you take the number 4!)
We'll walk through one of the oldest and cutest Hanok Villages in Seoul, Ikseon-Dong.
Our guide will give you a bit of historical background about the area and then we'll see Ikseondong BBQ street and stop at one of our favourite Korean BBQ places and start feasting.
Our guide will show you how locals eat, drink and enjoy the best Korean BBQ, an experience which without a Korean person really loses its magic.
There will be plenty of meat(mostly Pork), served with many side dishes and rice: have you ever heard of words like Gochuhang, Bachan or Ssambap? You’ll never forget them after this Dinner!
Beer and Soju are not to be missed on this occasion: you'll learn about the best Korean standards of beer and soju in a glass and what are the most classic Korean combos for that(and... maybe some games?)!
We'll finish the Dinner right inside of the BBQ place, in a Korean movie-like atmosphere.

WHY IKSEON-DONG HANOK VILLAGE?

The Hanok Village of Ikseon-Dong is right in the center of Seoul located in Jongno-gu.
Ikseon-Dong is a very small neighbourhood with a great vibe, and lots of traditional Korean houses (called Hanoks).

The atmosphere in the middle of these alleys with all these Hanoks is just fantastic! It is also an incredible place for your instagram photos. There are so many great angles from which you can take stunning shots.

The cool thing about the neighborhood is that the alleys are really small, so you feel like you’re walking around a completely different part of Seoul. The fact that Ikseon-Dong is a pedestrian area also adds to the special atmosphere.

How do I order?

That is very easy! Go to our "Book Now" page, where we detail our tours. Select your tour and the time of your tour and book it! Are you looking for something special or are you organizing an event? Just email us at Group & Private Tours and we will do our best to arrange something that suits you. After your booking is made, we will send you an automatic email confirmation. If you have any questions before booking, feel free to contact us via email.

What is included in the food tour?

All the delicious food and drinks mentioned above, but if you want more alcohol (and who doesn't?) We offer a upgraded drinks package that gives you a local drink.

Where is the meeting spot?

You can find the meeting spot here and if it's not clear you can always contact us.

The meeting spot is right outside Jongno 3-ga station, Exit 4 (where MAKERS HOTEL is). I will be standing there with an orange umbrella and a big smile!

Where the tour will end?

The Seoul Tour ends at the BBQ place in Ikseon-Dong.

Is your food tour suitable for a vegetarian or someone with other dietary requirements?

Most of our foods are made with pork seafood, however vegetarian options are available. Due to the nature of creating a well balanced and thoughtful gastronomy experience, many of our tours are unable to accommodate certain dietary restrictions. I am traveling with my family, is the tour ok for infants/children?

Children are more than welcome on our tour and it's free for any child 2 years or under! We have had many families attend from all over the world and everyone enjoyed the tour.

I don't drink alcohol. Can I book your tour?

This is not a problem. Just inform our guide before the tour starts. During the tasting you can select another beverage you like.!

Is there enough food during your tour?

Our tours provide our customers with a lot of food. Trust us, you will not need to eat a meal after our food tour!

Where do I add my discount voucher?

I would like to take your tour but it is already fully booked. Is there a way I can do the tour?

Our tours are often sold out very quickly. If the date you requested is not available, please do not hesitate to email us and we can see if there is anything we can do.

Is there a lot of walking?

Not Really. There will be around 8 minutes walking, so it's not too difficult and there are no hills or stairs. If you walk slowly, then our guide will walk slowly as well and you'll reach one of our favourite BBQ places in Seoul!

How many people max are on this tour?

We take 10 people maximum. If you're more than 11 people, please do not hesitate to email us and will try to see if we can accommodate..

I cannot find a way to print the confirmation. Is it OK if I have it on my phone?

You do not have to print your voucher. A confirmation on your phone will be fine!

If I purchase a voucher as a gift, or am given a voucher how long is it valid for?

All of our vouchers expire one year from the date of purchase.

Can I choose my own cheese and meat?

Our guide will take care of everything. Should you wish to try something special, please inform our guide and they will do their best to make you happy.

Where does your food come from?

The food and drink we buy is top-quality, fresh and local!

What if it rains or I change my plans?

Unfortunately, the weather is unpredictable in Seoul. We do not issue refunds as per our terms and conditions. We also inform you that we never cancel a booking even if we have only 2 people! Can I pay the tour in cash?

You must book directly on our website. We do not accept cash payments. Our online payment is safe, secured and SSL protected.

Why do we need to pay for booking fee?

The booking fee that you have to pay is up to our ticket provider and we can't change it. All our clients need to pay for it upon booking. The booking fee charged contributes to the cost of the ticketing system to provide an excellent service to our customers.

Foreign Transaction Fees

A few banks have charged their customer an extra fee while booking with us (this isn't the booking fee but another fee added by the bank). We think this is unfair, if this happens let us know by showing us in your bank statement and we will refund this fee as a gesture of good will.
