Such a good tour! Our guide was amazing, she was so friendly and knowledgeable of the city so we got to learn a lot about Helsinki and Finland in general along the way. The food was really good too local cuisines were very tasty and the secret spot did not disappoint

5 Stars – We had an amazing time with Jesse! Not only was the tour packed with interesting information, but Jesse went above and beyond to be helpful. The stops were perfectly curated—quaint local restaurants and a vibrant marketplace with delicious food and beautiful presentation. Salmon soup was a favorite among our group. A must-do if you're looking for an authentic local experience!

Jesse was an amazing tour guide. We have been on at least a dozen food tours over the last few years and this one was top shelf. We went to out of the way places that we could have never found on our own, tried amazing food we wouldn’t have known to order, and the whole afternoon felt like hanging out with a super interesting friend. On February 12, 2026, we had the pleasure of joining the Helsinki Authentic Food Tour via Secret Food Tours with Jesse, and it quickly became one of our favorite experiences in the city. Jesse is genuinely one of the kindest, most welcoming guides we’ve met in our travels. He greeted us warmly, already prepared with small treats, and immediately made us feel like we were exploring Helsinki with a friend rather than a tour group.

Throughout the walk, Jesse shared fascinating insights about Finnish culture, local food sourcing, history, and the surrounding community. His knowledge felt authentic and personal. The pacing was easy and comfortable, with short walks between stops that allowed us to truly enjoy each location.

What stood out most was the heart behind this tour. The food came from wonderful local businesses whose owners clearly take pride in their craft. Each stop felt intentional and community-centered, not commercialized. We met such warm and talented people along the way and by the end, we were so full we could barely finish dessert!

Kallio, meaning "the Rock" in Finnish (Suomi), is a former working-class district separated from the affluent city center by just one passage: the Pitkäsilta, or "long bridge."&nbsp;We designed this tour to offer you a glimpse into the authentic local lifestyle, moving beyond the well-trodden, tourist-heavy path of Esplanadi's grand avenues.&nbsp;Much like iconic neighborhoods such as Soho or Pigalle, Kallio—which was the workers’ district in the early 1900s—still retains a distinct village atmosphere. It pulses with life thanks to its vibrant mix of clubs, bars, and nightlife, where locals, students, and artists actively push back against the area's slow march toward gentrification.
