<p>As we wind through one of The Windy City's most lovely residential areas you'll drink numerous seasonal beers and learn about: how Chicago politics shaped the beer industry; Chicago's gritty rivalry with Milwaukee; the German beer riot, and its long-lasting effects on political partisanship in Chicago city elections; a deadly Chicago theme park; and many more fascinating snippets of our history. We'll dive into the cultural dealings of the area, history before the Chicago fire, prohibition, and beyond!</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>A thoughtfully curated <a href="/chicago/upgraded-food-package/">Upgraded Food Package</a> is available.</p>

We'll begin with the dynamic ales from a recent startup that has seen great success in its short beginnings.

We'll then move on to engage with a crowd that helped build the brewing trend in Chicago, and paved the way for the lager-style beer being made worldwide.

Our midpoint is a quirky bar and restaurant, serving delicious local brews and equally delicious bites (included in the upgraded food package).

Next we'll stop in on an establishment with a penchant for DIY brewing.

Finally, we'll end at a rooftop bar with the character of old-world pubs, as we dine on our Secret Dish that pushes culinary excellence to a new level.

The architecture lives in Irving Park, from Victorian mansions to turn-of-the-century bungalows — some buildings even predate the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Packed full of great places to drink and craft breweries, this is far more than a beer tour, this is a great way to get first hand experience of the wonders Chicago has to offer.</p>
