Bioburger – Organic Fast Food In Paris

Bioburger has a simple aim, to provide fast food that is organic.

With two central locations, rue de la Victoire and passage Choiseul – the latter is near Opera (and therefore perhaps a good spot for lunch if you are exploring the area).

The atmosphere is fashionably industrial, spacious with large windows and the food is cheery and cheap, and in my books a great place for squashing that fast food craving without all the guilt of other fast food places (and probably better taste too). All their food is made in house and sourced responsibly, even the bread which is made by a baker in their local quartier.

I chose to visit rue de la Victoire as the only one of the two open on a Saturday evening.

The procedure is simple, choose your food and order at the counter. The menu is not large but covers the bases, including a vegetarian option.

The burgers range from €6.60 for a classic to €11.50 for Le King with the option to go for a “mini” meal deal (+€4 for fries and a drink) or if you fancy one of their desserts too than the “maxi” option is your best bet (+€6).

If you prefer your burger without bread, there’s also a greener option of your burger arriving in a bed of salad leaves. They also offer coleslaw, and a variety of drinks such as citronnade (old fashioned lemonade), ice tea or Moit’ Moit’ which is a combination of the two, for those who can’t choose.

I opted for the classic burger with fries, citronnade and cheesecake for dessert and my companion chose the veggieburger mini menu with Moit’ Moit’ to drink.

The burgers were very tender and juicy (apparently even the veggie burger was better than many other contenders that my friend has tried in Paris), the fries crunchy and nothing oozing grease!

The citronnade and Moit’ was also very good, though the Moit’ was a little too sweet for me (I suspect the ice tea was the culprit here).

My only criticism was that though the bread was made just around the corner, it did not taste any better than supermarket bread rolls to me and I ended up not eating half of it.

The cheesecake was fairly standard, it was enjoyable but nothing spectacular.

All in all Bioburger is a great fast food pit stop, there is not a great deal of choice but what there is is pretty good and excellent value too. Double check the hours because the two restaurants differ.
