Meeting Spot

On our Secret Food Tour: Porto, you'll start in the heart of Porto's city center at Coliseu, the largest theater in the city. From there you'll discover a traditional open-air market; feast on a variety of fresh foods; test local alcohols and come face to face with stunning, quintessential Portuguese architecture. Learn about the area's fascinating history; experience Porto's colorful culture; and get a sense of what local life in this idyllic coastal city is like, all while tasting delicious, authentic Portuguese cuisine.&nbsp;Quality drinks will be served at some stops, however if you would like more, a thoughtfully curated <a href="/porto/upgraded-drinks-package/">Upgraded Drinks Package</a>, is available.

You'll start at a "Confeitaria" for a pão de ló — — local sponge cake — accompanied by an espresso coffee.

Next, we'll stop at a city market where you'll enjoy a Canned portuguese fish and a glass of vinho verde.

You'll taste the famous codfish cake while wondering around the market.

We'll dine in a super local restaurant, where you'll try the mouthwatering pork sandwiches: bifanas.

You'll try the famous Portuguese Custard tart

We'll sample one glass of 10 years Old Port wine with an astonishing view of the Douro River.

As with all our tours, there's our delicious Secret Dish.

What you'll taste

We chose these two districts because of their strong identity within the city and their unique atmospheres, delicious food, famous wine, and interesting culture.&nbsp;We'll step back in time to explore the city's 18th, 19th and 20th century areas as well as the medieval area, classified by UNESCO.&nbsp;Through the narrow streets of the Ribeira neighborhood, we will find the magnificent scenes of the Douro River crossed by the famous iron Dom Luís I Bridge. &nbsp;

Our table wines vary based on availability. Verde wine is an exclusive white wine from the Northwest region of Portugal. Red and white wines come from the deep North region of Portugal, the Douro Valley, with its Mediterranean microclimate.

Authentic beer from Porto, Super Bock Original is a pilsner-style beer, golden in color and always refreshing.

Large Glass of Draft Beer

Guests can select between a glass of tawny, ruby, or white Port. Port wine is the most famous, and most copied, wine from Portugal, and it grows in the Douro Valley. This wild and beautiful part of Northern Portugal offers extraordinarily good conditions for wine grapes, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
