  • LOCAL TEQUILA COCKTAIL
"Ranch Water" might not sound like a refreshing cocktail, but people in Texas have been enjoying this drink as a way to cool off from the sweltering heat for a long time. It is made with premium blanco tequila, lime juice, agave nectar, and Topo Chico. While the exact origins of the cocktail are unknown, it’s rumored to be the creation of a rancher in the 1960s. The spirit of the drink supposedly had him following the stars all the way from Fort Davis to Marathon. At the end of his journey, he was found asleep under a pinyon tree. It’s lovingly referred to as a “cowboy margarita”.

WHY DOWNTOWN?

This area exemplifies the evolution of the city with protected historical landmarks surrounded by new construction. Austin is yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the US. This area shows you quite clearly the roots of the city dating back to 1839.

Home to historical houses, theatres, and buildings, we'll pass by the old blacksmith shop, (now a yogurt shop), department stores, and warehouses. We'll also visit Willie Nelson, an Austin icon.
