Learn the story of the immigrants that shaped the San Francisco food scene and how San Francisco shaped them. Many foods that are commonly thought of as Mexican and Chinese were actually invented in San Francisco.
We had an amazing food tour with Mark. He was superbly knowledgeable, not only about food, but the Mission. It’s clear he has a passion for both the area and food. Each place we ate was fantastic, I’ve never had such a delicious burrito, the oysters were a surprise delight and the hot chocolate at the end was stunning. We loved all of our stops and Mark showed us places that we’d have not seen or known about as tourists. We love getting off the beaten path and exploring cities, so Mark did not disappoint. If only we could just get the recipe for that green sauce at Media Noche!

My husband and I did the food tour really enjoyed the whole experience. Loved getting to try a variety of foods and exploring the culture of the mission. Another highlight for us was seeing the beautiful changing murals on Clarion Alley. Ending the tour at Dolores park with our scoop of Bi Rite ice cream was the perfect ending to an awesome day! The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and always offering to take our pictures as we went throughout the tour. Highly recommend!

I had a great time on the Secret Food Tour today. I have always wanted to go to the Mission and I feel that I really got to explore the area on this tour. Carly was super organised, very well informed and keen to share her knowledge. Our group was small but perfectly formed which meant that we could all get to know each other which made it a lot more fun. I loved that the food we tried reflected the different cultures in the Mission - and some of these places were quite famous and had been on my To-Visit list for some time. There was a combination of eating in and eating on the sidewalk which made it more fun and the walking was totally flat which is always a bonus. Finishing at the park with the amazing view of the city was just the icing on the cake! Highly recommended!

Our guide made this food tour absolutely fabulous! We were celebrating a friend's 60th birthday and I had heard about food tours from a niece. Researched and we settle on the Mission District and Secret Food Tours. It is not normally offered on Sunday but we asked if we could do a private one. our guide was outgoing, very informative and kept things going. Loved seeing the murals at Clarion Alley. The food was all delicious especially La Taqueria! Take the tour it opens your eyes to see the city in a new light and it is just not the tourists spots. Can't wait to try a different district.!

We took our 13 yo boys on this food tour because we all love food. What better way to see the city than from bite to bite. We all loved it! Our guide was an engaging and informative guide and host to the city, providing bits of history along the way. I appreciated her choice of restaurants, savoring the local flair as we learned a bit of the immigrant history of SF. I recommend this tour to anyone seeking a different experience of the city and for sure to those who appreciate good food!
