A rooftop to remember

Scret Food Tours Blog

It was a hot sticky summer night when my friends and I decided to try out the roof deck at Ristorante Fiore.

And at 8pm on a Monday - usually the quietest day of the week - we were lucky to find a seat.

I believe Fiore has the only roof deck in the North End, though once you’re up there, it isn’t immediately clear you’re on a roof deck.

Sure, the lights dangle from the empty sky above you, but there’s no view like many roof decks in other parts of Boston, just the walls of the taller surrounding buildings on either side.

My friends and I decided to share a bottle of red wine even though it was hot out. While we were waiting for our bottle to arrive, the waiter brought bread and oil with a nice bean spread.

Next up, we ordered oysters on the half shell, because who can resist raw wellfleet oysters on a warm summer night? Mmmm!!!!! Delicious.

For the main course we each ordered pasta, I choose the lasagna, while one friend choose the gnocchi and another ordered the bombolotti.

The meat lasagna was unlike any I’ve had before. Instead of the typical ground beef, the meat was still one piece and it pulled apart with every bite. Quite a nice surprise.

After our meals and our wine, we opted for another round of drinks, this time cocktails. I ordered the Raspberry Lime Ricky for something alcoholic and more refreshing than the red wine. My friends got the Cucumber Cooler and Hanover Hound. And then we walked off all that food on a sticky summer night in the city.

Including service, we spent $220.
