But there are reasons why you may wish occasionally to go super<br \/>expensive.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022 Special occasion or treat<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Need to impress someone<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Want to see what all the fuss is about<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It\u2019s impossible to agree on London\u2019s most expensive. All we can say is these three listed are among the capital\u2019s priciest.<\/p>\n<p>But first, some items of advice<br \/>\u2022 You may find yourself sitting among the afore mentioned super-rich. And tourists who know no better. Don\u2019t expect many Londoners.<br \/>\u2022 You generally don\u2019t need to dress up \u2013 smart casual works but not jeans<br \/>\u2022 The house wine will be fine \u2013 and save you a substantial sum<br \/>\u2022 In the UK, service is usually added to the bill \u2013 don\u2019t tip twice<br \/>\u2022 Many pricier places have lower cost lunchtime and early evening menus.<br \/>\u2022 Most super-cost places score on ambiance and service rather than food<\/p>\n<p>We cannot claim to have road-tested any of these but here are some of London\u2019s costliest.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobbobricard.com\/\">Bob Bob Ricard<\/a> (1 Upper James Street, W1F 9DF, bobbobricard.com) has a reputation for champagne.<br \/>There\u2019s a gold button at every table which, when pressed, sends a bottle-wielding waiter to the table in<br \/>seconds.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.secretfoodtours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/UKExpensive4.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Russian-influenced menu (clue to the clientele) features baked oysters brezhnev topped with truffle, lobster and cheese, lobster pelmeni dumplings and the legendary chicken Kiev.<br \/>Main courses are around \u00a316 to \u00a340.<br \/>Champagne is \u00a375 to nearly \u00a3350 a bottle.<br \/>Go there to gawp rather than eat of the best.<\/p>\n<p>Much the same can be said of <a href=\"https:\/\/parkchinois.com\/\">Park Chinois<\/a> 17 Berkeley Street, W1J<\/p>\n<p>8EA, parkchinois.com<\/p>\n<p>Certainly the picture below shows 1930s Shanghai opulence. As for the food, Harden\u2019s gives it two out of five with one comment saying it was little more than a good Chinese with a veneer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.secretfoodtours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/UKExpensive2.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.secretfoodtours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/UKExpensive3.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You wash your hands under golden swan-shaped taps. And every detail clothes diners in red velvet richness.<br \/>You get live music every night upstairs, downstairs Club Chinois has cabaret shows.<br \/>Service is theatrical.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theritzlondon.com\/dine-with-us\/the-ritz-restaurant\/ritz-restaurant-menus\/\">The Ritz<\/a> in Piccadilly is legendary.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.secretfoodtours.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/UKExpensive1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been the top in London luxury for well over 100 years. Tea at the Ritz has become a clich\u00e9 especially for tourists. Lunch or dinner at the restaurant is more relaxed.<br \/>The three course lunch without drinks costs \u00a393. But you get a free copy of the Ritz London cookbook.<br \/>Men have to wear jacket and tie.
